NELC Xplore is a Myanmar joint venture between Nelson English Language Centres (NELC) and Thailand-based Teach Explore Asia (XploreAsia). NELC Xplore’s mission is, “Transforming Lives Through Education”.
NELC is one of the first large-scale English language centres in Myanmar. With over seven years of experience, NELC has trained more than 10,000 youths and adults across the country in English as a second language. NELC currently employs ten native English speaking teachers in Yangon, and has successful consulting experience training teachers in how to teach English as a second language. NELC also advises local colleges in Yangon on the development and assessments of school English curriculum. NELC is owned by Mr Tun Myaing (Nelson), who also currently serves as the president of the Myanmar Tea Grower’s Association.
Based in Thailand, XploreAsia has extensive experience recruiting and training native English speaking teachers in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and placing them in teaching jobs across Asia. Drawing extensively from both TESOL and adult learning methodologies, XploreAsia has trained, certified and placed more than 2,000 teachers.
