NELC Xplore’s team is an efficient and effective one which employs the skills of multinational group of individuals from across the globe. The combined expertise and experience of each member of the NELC Xplore come together to form an industry leading organization.

Tun Myaing (Nelson)

NelsonNelson is the Managing Director of NELC Xplore. A Citizen of Myanmar and the owner and manager of Nelson English Language Centre, Nelson is a pioneer in English language education in Myanmar. Nelson has established language centres and international schools across the country with more than 6,000 students and 250 teachers. Nelson is also the President of the Myanmar Tea Grower’s Association. Nelson holds a diploma in TESOL from Assumption University in Bangkok, Thailand, as well as a Diploma in Accounting.

Michael Volpe

Michael

Michael is the Senior Director of NELC Xplore. Mr. Volpe has an extensive educational background in international business and political science, along with nearly 10 years of online and in-class teaching experience at the university level in Thailand and the United States. He is a Fulbright-Hays Scholar, holds a Master’s Degree in International Public Policy, and is pursuing a doctorate from George Mason University in Virginia. He is also a research consultant at the King Prajadhipok’s Institute, a Thai government institute in Bangkok. Michael has experience in the marketing, advertising, and international development sectors and has conducted extensive research and published on social movements, international development, and civic engagement and education.

Sandra Ugalde

SandraSandra is the Education Director of NELC Xplore. She is a citizen of the United Kingdom, was previously a Fellow with the UK Institute of Learning, and holds a Master’s Degree in Special Educational Needs. She brings with her over 17 years of education and training experience. She was the Director of Teaching and Learning with Westminster Adult Education Service, was also an experienced associate inspector for the UK’s Adult Learning Inspectorate, and has extensive experience training teachers and school staff, designing courses, worked with various international awarding bodies and substantial curriculum management experience. Sandra’s experience spans kindergarten, compulsive education and adult education.
